Understanding Iron in Ontario Water
Iron is one of the most common water quality problems in Ontario, particularly in areas drawing from groundwater sources. It appears in several forms that require different treatment approaches — which is why a proper water test is critical before selecting a system.
Types of Iron in Ontario Water
- Ferrous (clear-water) iron: Dissolved iron that's invisible when water runs but turns orange when exposed to air. Most common in well water.
